just wanted to sign the guest book - I think you are amazing and that GOD has so blessed you with an unbelievable gift! I am now 46 yrs old, and have been listening to you since I was about 6 or 7 yrs old! Very blessed that my husband and his family had been listening to you also - we all share a great bond with our love of your talent and the beautiful story/music of Jesus Christ SuperStar! was just wondering if you are performing any where in the New York/New Jersey area in the future?
God Bless

Allyson, that is such a beautiful photo! I had dropped my camera earlier, so I do not have any photos of him and me. It was my first time to meet him. But he and the show were beyond wonderful!
|
Mary Tuesday, January 31, 2012 07:02 PM
Oh wow, they did "Crazy Heart". I always think of Ted when I listen to this song because I've always though he'd KILL it ... I mean that in the good sense of the word. I hope that I'll get to hear him do it if he takes this show on the road.

Hi Allyson: Your photos with Ted are the absolute best. Both happy, smiling, glad to see ya my friend pictures. Thanks for posting the set list. I also loved the videos on FB I tried to post at FB under your photo on Ted's FB page, but for some reason, I cannot make comments. I can post a new post but no comments. Still haven't figured that one out yet. I can see that Ted, however, has gotten really techo savy. He "tweets" like a pro now. I enjoyed reading all the comments from the "tweet seat" section the first night of this concert series. Hoping to see Ted and Little Big Band on the road soon....

Allyson: I went to Ted's FB page. I "unliked" it, then liked it again...and still would not let me leave any comments. I wonder if I have something not set right on my own FB page....hum, gonna have to check with my computer guy..

Thank you for a splendid concert tonight!!!!! I would have come for Gethsemane alone----you perform spectacularly up close. I think maybe even better than all those years ago at the Universal. "We are Here" piece was very thought provoking---reaches back and unfortunately forward. Best of fortune.

Would love to hear more about the members of your band, The Little Big Band. Ted, this band and show sounds fabulous and I have hopes you will consider even a short tour east with your music!!
Debbie Becker Thursday, January 26, 2012 07:44 PM
Just pulled this portion of an article on the web about your Band. Interested in the bit about this run at the Rubicon kicking off a national tour. Your fans would love to know there is a chance you will "ROCK" cross country. Again all the reviews I have found on the internet are terrific so CONGRATULATIONS!!
Before his epoch-making performance in the film of Jesus Christ, Superstar, Ted Neeley was a singer, songwriter, vocal arranger, and record producer from Ranger, Texas. He lent his abilities to albums and appearances by artists such as Nigel Olsson, Tina Turner, Disco Tax and the Sex-O-Lettes, Ray Charles, Bo Diddley and Meat Loaf. Following years of sold-out stage tours, and film and television work, this Renaissance man now melds his musical passions for many kinds of music to create a theatrical concert event which kicks off here at Rubicon prior to a national tour! Backed by a little (five-piece) band of big talents, Ted takes us back to his Texas roots with a winsome bit of backwoods blues and country, performs highlights from rock-and-roll musicals such as Tommy, Hair, Sgt. Pepper’s… and Superstar, sings excerpts from his film scores for Robert Altman and others, and premieres new, never-before-heard pop compositions. Expect a mix of electric and acoustic music, a little “yammering” and some special surprises.

Hi Ted! Talking with you again is such a treat for us. You make us feel that we are part of your family. We can genuinely call you friend.
The performance was absolutely fantastic! What fun we both had!! As I told you, it took me back to the less complicated days of being in High School. Your stories are always amazing, we could sit and listen to your "yammering" for hours. Your new songs touched our hearts - good thing I had a Kleenex in my purse!!
Hope you will continue your Big Little Band and that we'll have the opportunity to see it again and again!!
Ted Hugs keep us going until the next time we see you.
Love You!! Ann & Meghan - San Diego

Hi there, Allyson,
You have not changed at all. You look healthy and happy; wonderful:) Ted looks awesome with his new haircut. Healthier for the hair too. I know I should at least trim my long hair... not an easy task. It's wonderful to know that you met him and had a pic with him and saw the show. How very nice. I wish I could disappear to Ventura for a week.. sigh..Just seeing you there makes me feel as though I almost experienced it. That, and the YouTube of "Gethsamene". Thank you so much for that.

I was wondering if you were going to perform Jesus Christ Superstar again in San Francisco with Carl Anderson? I am a major fan of the movie. My mom introduced me to the movie and I was hooked. I introduced my girl to the movie at the age 5 yr. She is also hooked. I would love to have her see you and Carl perform live. I was able to get tickets for the show in San Francisco, front row as a surprise for my mom's birthday. Both you and Carl were there. I think it would be great to do that again with my daughter and mom. You are awsome to watch and hear. If you can not make it here, that is ok. Either way, your great.
p.s. my mom gave a DVD of JCS to my girl as a gift and she was over joyed. A nice family tradition to pass down. We even have the LP of the show.
Thank you for your time and hope you actually got to read this.

Hi Ted, I've just been revisiting my childhood and watching you in JCS and at 41, I can honestly say, it's lost none of it's appeal or magic. I happened across your web site and thought I'd drop in and say a big thank you to you and all of the cast who made it such a great film. I'm guessing it's too much to hope for, but are there any plans to reprise your role over here in the UK at any stage?
Kind regards and much love

Happy New Year Everyone!!
(I wanted to get that taken care of because this post is really for Sue.)
My son (and #1 Battlefield Buddy) came home for Christmas, so we had to go to the holy of holies – Gettysburg!! Most people take the 4 hour driving tour; it only took us 7 hours (and may be the reason my daughter and husband refused to come with us). Anyway...this monument has always been a favorite of mine and I'm sure you'll agree Sue, it's totally awesome!!
On July 2nd, 1863 the Rebels threatened to overtake the Union position here. General Hancock, seeing the danger, ordered the 1st Minnesota Regiment to charge and hold them off until he could bring up the reserves. Of the 262 Minnesotans who made the charge, only 47 returned; but the line held.

Hi Julieann
I vacationed @ Gettysburg 2yrs ago
Am not a war (any) buff
but my ex is/we went together
But I was pleasantly surprised
loved the cyclorama (did you see that?)
and was awed at the unmistakeable presence of those who fought and died
Wouldn't mind going back (we went in July)

I have been a fan since I first saw Jesus Christ Superstar. My youngest daughter now 26 has been a fan for over half her life. We tried to get to see you live but were unable to. To this day we can both sing the entire score from the show. Absolutly our favorite. Thank you for a fantastic performance and something special one of my daughters and I have to share. We would love to know if you ever decide to perform it again.May God continue to bless you Nan

I have loved the musical for years. I watched as a teenager the first time and have been watching it ever since. I actually just finished rewatching it a few moments ago. I love your performance as well as the rest of the cast. The passion with which everyone takes on their roles is awe inspiring.
I hope one day you can perform here in Jacksonville, Fl.

What a beautiful perfomance at the Egyptian in Park City on 12/27! We have seen you perform in JCS many times and we watch the movie "religously". At 42 years old, I can really say that I was raised watching JCS.
I am an active Christian. Your face and voice are what I see and hear when I read the Bible or try to imagine Jesus.
Way to stick the landing!!!! Thank you.

Just watched your performance at the Egyptian Theatre in Park City last night, and wanted to say how thoroughly my wife and I enjoyed it. I've been listening to the soundtrack (on LP!) since 1974, and it was so amazing to hear you sing just as beautifully over 35 years later. Thank you for sharing your talent with us!
